I was introduced to track and field and cross country my freshman year of high school. I instantly fell in love with the adrenaline, the rush and the excitement of the sport. Sprinting, running, and jumping has turned into my biggest passion in a matter of months. My ultimate goal is to run Track and Field for college and get my PhD in Psychology with a minor in business and one day open my own practice along with my own cafe. At the beginning of 2021, I raised $32,107 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and was awarded the Community Involvement award. During my fundraising, I organized and put on a 5k called "Freeze the Day 5k....Freezing cancer in its tracks" and raised $5,500! My strongest events in track and field is the high jump and 400 meter dash. My first season of high jumping was my sophomore year. With only two months of practice, I cleared 4'10 at the conference meet. This was my best height and I placed 3rd in the Henlopen Conference. Also, I placed 4th in the 400 meter dash the same meet. I also run the 200, 800, and 500 meter dash along with the 4x800 and 4x400 with the occasional 4x200 relay. I also compete in Cross Country, my personal record is a 20 min 29 second 5k my senior year of high school. Along my journey of track and field my biggest supporters have always been my mom and my grandfather who always cheered me on at the meets. Not only do they support me through sports, but also through school. I attend one of the most rigorous schools in Delaware, Sussex Academy. Being an athlete in college is by far my biggest dream for college and I hope that dream can come true through hard work and dedication to reaching my goal.
