(open to be a multis heptathlon prospect)
Hello! My name is Juliana Courville! I am a hardworking, perseverant, and responsible athlete. I currently compete in varsity track/field, competitive wieghtlifting, and x-country for Venice High School. With the help of God, my coaches, my family, and my team I have already achieved amazing goals.
As a freshman, I individually qualified for States in the 800m, competed in the 4x400, and 4x800 at that meet. I also helped break 3 school records (1 individual and 2 relays). I would describe myself as a multipurpose athlete. I have experience in various relays ranging from the 4 x100m, 4x400m, all the way to the 4x800m. I am also a pole vaulter and have done some high jumping. Picking up new events quickly makes me a versatile athlete. I have only run the 1600m twice in my track career and managed to drop a 5:22. I have also only competed in the 200m twice and have run 26.46.
Sadly, my Sophomore 2020 track season was cancelled halfway through due to COVID-19. I did not let that stop me. I continued training all the way until x-country preseason. This way my progression was not stunted. I became district champion for cross country and lowered my time to a 19:49. Later in track season I became district champion in the 800m. I advanced to States and rebroke my 800m school record by running a 2:16.24.
My athletic accomplishments through the years have lead to receiving many awards. I was named "Athlete of the Year" my freshman season and "Most Valued Runner" my junior season. Every year I consistently made the All-Area 1st Team and became a finalist my junior year for the All-Area Cross Country 1st team.
Outside of athletics I help run a community service club and attend the State College of Florida Collegiate School. I will graduate with a high school diploma and Associate in Arts degree. I plan to study a medically related career such as physical therapy or veterinarian in the future.
Growing up I have always been an athletic and competitive person, but never ran track or x-country in middle school. This means I have much potential to improve in this area! I spent a lot of my younger days horseback riding, drawing, playing soccer, and being involved with music. I am a very well rounded person and try my absolute best in everything I do. I apply this mentality to my athletics, faith, school, part time job, art, and music.
The next level of athletics will take even more hard work, sweat, and tears, but I am up for the challenge. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)
Thank you for your time. God bless you!
Athletic Awards: "Rookie of the Year", Sun Preps All-Area Track 1st Team (3 years) , HT Preps All-Area X-Country 1st Team and finalist, Individual District Champion (Cross-Country and Track), "Most Valued Runner"
