Haley McLeer '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello! I am Haley McLeer a pole vaulter from Flagler county Florida. Before I discovered pole vault I was a competitive gymnast for 7 years but unfortunately had to stop due to injuries. Eventually I got healthy again and got into track and really enjoyed it, then my coach suggested I give pole vault a try so i did. After that i knew this was the sport I wanted to do. My junior season didn't go as I planned unfortunately after I tore my abdomen, which caused me to be out for half of the season. Even though I missed a lot of meets in the beginning I made sure I would push through for my team to score us points at districts and then made it on to regionals. This season I plan to venture into some different events like triple jump and hurdles as well as hopefully break the school record in pole vault. My dedication and drive is what makes me confident that I would be a good candidate to have on your team, as well my sportsmanship and ability to help my team mates grow not only as athletes but as people.
