Personal Statement

Sports have always been my happy place. I have competed at a high level in numerous sports since elementary school. As a long-term competitive gymnast who competed through Level 9 and qualified for regionals, I transitioned to competitive pole vault, track and lacrosse as a freshman in high school. Gymnastics instilled grit and tenacity which continue to benefit me. I confront athletic setbacks and obstacles with renewed determination and vigor.

After only three years, my current pole vault PR is 13 feet 2.25 inches (3/16/2024) and I am ranked first in Georgia overall. I have jumped over 12 feet during every meet my junior year and over 13 feet in six meets, most recently with a jump of 13-.25 to win the Regional Jr. Olympics on 7/6/24 and with a jump of 13-1.50 to win the Atlanta Adidas City Games on 5/18/24. I was named an All-American by Adidas Outdoor Nationals for my win on 6/15/24, by New Balance Indoor Nationals with a jump of 12-9.5 on 3/10/24, and by the National High School Coaches Association for both pole vault and sprints in 2024. I won my age division at the Mac Vault Summer National Championships in Texas with a jump of 13 feet on 7/29/23. I was tied for first in Georgia for indoor in 2024 and for outdoor in 2023. I was also named to Atlanta's 2024 and 2023 All-Metro Track & Field Team.

During 2024 and 2023, I won pole vault state, regionals and sectionals for Division 4A in Georgia. I hold Westminster's pole vault record. I qualified for New Balance Indoor Nationals and Adidas Outdoor Nationals. I PRed in the 100 meter and 200 meter runs with times of 12.84 and 26.30 seconds, respectively, and my 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay teams broke our own Westminster school record multiple times in 2023 and again in 2024, placing 3rd and 4th at state. Westminster's girls track team has won the state title three years in a row.

During my freshman track season in 2022, I won pole vault regionals and sectionals and came in second place as the state runner up for Division 3A in Georgia. I competed on the 4x100 and 4x200 meter relay teams and we qualified for and placed at state. Westminster's girls and boys track teams won Division 3A overall.

I also play competitive lacrosse as a midfielder for Buckhead Stix (and previously for Atlanta Storm Elite Orange) and Westminster's Varsity Lacrosse Team. I was named All-Area First Team for lacrosse in 2024 and our Varsity lax team was the state runner up in 2024 and the state semi-finalists in 2023. I also qualified for state in cross country (PR 20 mins 46 secs) during the fall of 2022.

I am an A student at a highly competitive private school in Atlanta, with a cumulative average GPA of 98.73/100 in honors and AP classes. I am in the top 10 percent of my graduating class and recently received the Georgia Certificate of Merit in recognition of this achievement.

I am fully invested in competing at the collegiate level as a pole vaulter. I hope to also contribute as a sprinter. Academics are critically important to me as well and I am eager to attend a top tier academic and athletic college. I currently plan to major in business, economics, or psychology.

I work relentlessly at everything that I do and will give my heart and soul to a collegiate athletic program.
