Shani Simon '21 Recruiting Profile

I have always been fascinated with running since I was very young. And the moment I started running for a team at the age of nine it became a deep passion. Everyone who watched me noticed I had a natural gift. My family and friends strongly encouraged me to pursue and develop this talent. From that point on, I could only see myself participating in this sport in my future.

 Overtime I have truly become more confident, both on and off the track. Track has also made me more determined in everyday tasks. My goals in life as a student athlete are to continue to decrease my times, be apart of a phenomenal college track team, and to help other athletes believe that by when working hard you can achieve the anything.

 In past years I’ve struggled because my personal record wasn’t improving as rapidly as I would’ve liked. I wanted my times to improve each moment I was competing. I asked myself how can I overcome this? So I relentlessly worked harder and saw improvements. Now I am breaking my own times and overcoming all obstacles that were in my way. I always strive to do my best at all times. I am an ambitious student with a 3.8 GPA. I am a team player who tries to inspire and help others excel. I am not afraid of doing whatever it takes to reach my greatest performance. Overall, you won’t be disappointed in what I can bring to your wonderful team. I look forward to working with you.
