Demetria Lind '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

My name is Demetria Lind and I attend Martin Luther King (MLK) High School here in Lithonia, Georgia. I'm currently a junior, sixteen years of age, and I have a passion for track/cross-country. At the age of eight,  in May of 2013 is when my journey began. It started with the Mark Trail Flying Eagles Track Club  where my dedication grew with AAU and USTF. I was able to compete in the USTF 2019 Junior Olympics in Sacramento, California in the 3000Meter Run. History was made with the girls Cross-Country Team at MLK where we won the Region Championship in 2019!My goal for running in this 2020 season is to break a cross-country record of 23:90sec, strive for 5:00min in the 1600, and peak to 13:00min in the 3200M run. Unfortunately, due to Pandemic of Covid, I was  the only representative of my high school to compete in the 5A Region Championship (24:27.82).I also competed in the AAU National Cross-Country Championship in Tallahassee ,FL  (24:50.50)Running is everything to me and it's really what my life consists of right now. Every Since I started running it has been a "life changer event." It has shown me true discipline, strong determination, dedication, and most of all leadership qualities.

Academics is also very important to me.I currently hold a GPA of 3.20. In my sophomore year I received The National Society of High School School Scholoars Award and scored the highest in my class for the Technology Pathway Completion.
