My name is EllaRyann Cottrell, and I will graduate in 2023. I’ve been running cross country and track for three years. I’m truly dedicated to running, and I persistently try to break my personal records. Running varsity cross country for my two highs school years, and winning the 2020 region championship as a sophomore, are two of my greatest accomplishments. Cross country and track are such mental sports, and they drive me to constantly be the best athlete I can be. Crushing personal records fuels my mind.
Knowing that I have a chance to reach my goal and pursue running in college drives me to work harder. I could offer a college team relentless hard work, and guaranteed motivation for my fellow team members. I pride myself in being able to pull myself up after my many failures. I attempt to stay positive and try to set new goals in hopes of not letting setbacks disrupt the path to success.
When it comes down to selecting colleges, location wise I am very open to just about anything. I would prefer schools in the southern states (Georgia, Alabama, The Carolinas, etc.) I look for a larger school that has a “college town” atmosphere. I want to attend a school where I have great academic and athletic opportunities considering academics are very important. I would like to attend a school with a great pre-medical program. My top major choices as of now are pre-medicine and biology although this might change over the remainder of my high school career.
My realistic athletic goals are to continue to run at a highly competitive level. Another goal would be to impact fellow athletes and others to come. Knowing at the end of the day that I pushed myself to reach my full potential, and made a positive impact on others will fulfill my athletic desires.
