They say you don’t know how much you love something until you lose it. It’s a bit cliche, but I didn’t fully understand how true that statement was until Covid hit and the rest of my sophomore track season was cancelled. It was eye-opening. I realized that high school was flying by, and that I wanted to run competitively for as long as possible.
I was fortunate enough to have been able to compete during my junior year, advancing all the way to State. Through hard-work and determination, I was able to place 3rd in the 100H and 7th in the 300H, gaining PRs in both. This was all done while maintaining my 3.8 GPA. Academics are also very important to me, so I strive to continue a balance between both. I still have much room for improvement, but I am a quick learner and take in instructions well. More PRs to come in my senior year!
