My name is Adrienne Russell, and I am in the class of 2024 at Boise High School. I started throwing javelin and competing in the heptathlon in the summer of 2020 and have been running track for 10 years. When I am not training during the school track and field season, I train with Idaho Dash Track Club.
My javelin personal record is 152’7’’(46.5m) and my heptathlon personal record is 4255. With javelin not being a sanctioned high school sport in Idaho, I train hard in the offseason so I can be prepared to throw at any opportunity. I attended the USA Javelin Project Camp at LSU in Feb. 2023, a great experience with top coaches. In the summer of 2023, I placed 6th in javelin at the USATF U20 Championships, improved my heptathlon score by 610 points, and placed 3rd in javelin and 6th in heptathlon at the AAU National JO’s.
School is very important to me. I have a 3.8 GPA and am registered for accelerated/AP courses in Calculus, Government, and English in my senior year. I am interested in biology, kinesiology, biochemistry, or similar programs. I have been a part of the Boise High sports medicine program for 3 years, and as a senior I will be serving as a sports medicine/athletic trainer assistant for football, soccer, and basketball.
I am always motivated to get better and am a versatile, coachable, all-around athlete. I work part time as a pet sitter which has taught me responsibility, independence, and dependability, all skills that are required to be a hard-working athlete and student.
