Dear Collegiate Coaches and Recruiters,
My name is Millie Bledsoe and I am currently in my year of high school. I run school and club track and am looking to run at a collegiate level. I have run club track for 4 years (summer/winter seasons) and school track for 4 years. I have also participated in a non-profit for 7 years where 4 half-marathons are completed in one month to raise money for HIV orphans in India. In addition to running and being an athlete outside of school, I have maintained an unweighted GPA of 4.0.
As an athlete, I am very determined, hard-working, and accepting of help and evaluation. At practices, I always put in my best effort because I believe that each practice will contribute to my improvement during competition. I rarely skip practices, and if I do, I let my coach know and ask for the workout so I can complete it on my own. When the spring season of 2020 was canceled due to covid, I continued to run at least 4 days per week in order to stay in shape for future seasons. I am always ready for practice and I take the warm-ups and cool-downs very seriously. I often stay after practice for more one-on-one training with the coaches for form, starts, and specific event training. My events of choice are currently the heptathlon, 100H, 300H, and long jump.
Some of my athletic accomplishments include 3rd place at State in long jump (2021), 3rd place at State in 100m Hurdles (2022), 8th place at the AAU Indoor Nationals in long jump (2021), and 1st place the AAU Indoor Nationals in long jump (2022).
As a student, I am very organized, timely, and hard-working. My work is often kept by teachers to use as examples for future classes. I have not turned in any assignments late and I always take extra-credit opportunities when I can. I have been told that I am an exceptional student who takes school seriously and works hard to succeed.
Overall, I am a striving athlete with successful academics who always seeks to improve along with those around me.
Thank you for taking the time to consider me as a recruit,
Millie Bledsoe
