I am a motivated goal-setter who desires an opportunity to prove herself at the collegiate level, both academically and athletically. I am a multi-sport athlete who has competed at the varsity level in volleyball, basketball, track, and softball since my freshman year of high school. I have a passion for competition and challenging myself to improve. Track is the perfect sport for my competitive nature and desire for consistent improvement.
As a freshman, I dual-sported in softball and track, but made softball my priority sport since it was a team event. I qualified for the Idaho State Track Championships in the 100m, 200m, and long jump that year, but had to make the choice to attend the Idaho State Softball Championships with my team where we placed third. I feel my dedication to my teams is just one of the things that makes me stand out as a recruit because it shows my loyalty to my teammates and my willingness to help others rather than indulging in my own personal glory. Last year as a junior, I again qualified for the Idaho State Track Championships. I attended and placed 4th in State in the long jump, 3rd in the 200m, and 2nd in the 100m. I have also broken my school's nearly 40-year 100 and 200m sprint records.
Ultimately, I am a team player who is also a standout academic with strong moral character and grit. I have a 4.0 grade point average while taking numerous dual credit courses, participating in sports, and being active in several clubs and leadership positions. I also spend a lot of time outside of my athletic seasons improving my fitness and skills by attending camps and dedicating myself to weightlifting. I currently weigh 105 pounds and have the following weightlifting maxes:
I have participated in and won weightlifting competitions in my school and in the region. I enjoy lifting as a release from stress and as another way to challenge myself physically.
I feel that I would be a valuable asset to any athletic and academic program. I dedicate myself to both areas and am willing to sacrifice my own vain enjoyments to improve my skills. I love being a part of a team and learning from others around me. I want to push myself beyond any preconceived limitations and desire to not only win competitions at the collegiate level and help my teammates be better, but I also want to break records and make the most of the opportunity that I can.
