Hello! My name is Jessica Duran, I am beginning my senior year at Wendell High School in Wendell, ID. I am the only female on our XC team and the only female running distance on our track team. I cannot wait to run for a university where I can have a strong team of females surrounding me, to push each other to greatness on the course and in the classroom
It has been my dream since 6th grade to run distance in college. My 2020 XC season I was the 2A state champion, the year before that (2019) I placed 17th at state XC. in 2021 I competed in state track while having severe IT band syndrome and was still able to medal in both the 1600 (6th) and the 3200 (4th)
I currently have a 4.0 cumulative GPA, I am the All Student Body President, a member of National Honor Society and FFA, I am the Region IV Idaho High School Activities Association Student Advisory Council representative. I plan to study engineering or sports medicine.
My dream and goal that I have been working toward for 7 years is to continue my academic and athletic career beyond high school. I believe that I will thrive on a team of strong girls where I can become faster and build positive lasting relationships with my teammates and coaches.
