My name is Sabrina Schlenker I am 17 years old going into my Senior year I compete Hurdles, Sprints, and will start long jump my Senior year (had major injury Junior year was not able to compete jumps or hurdles)I have qualified all 3 years of my high school career to state I went down for the 300 hurdles,4x100, and 4x2 mt freshman yr. Soph year 300 hurdles and 4x100 placing 7th in both events. Junior year 4x4. My sophomore year at state I ran a 45.1 in prelims for the 300 hurdles my main event and made it to finals and placed 7th, I also placed 7th in the 4x1 down at state soph year I tore my ACL going into junior year which was very devastating for me so was not able to get the times I wanted for recruiting I was able to compete in the 400 towards the end of outdoor season and managed to run and help qualify our 4x4 to state post 5 months after my ACL reconstruction and meniscus surgery I was not where I wanted to be but I worked hard to be able to run the end of the season even though it was defiantly not what I expected or planned on I was hoping to place top three in the 300 hurdles my junior year but things dont always go as planned as I learned, however, it was a good experience because my sister Katrina Schlenker (cross country/track phenomenon) was on the 4x4 with me and we would hand off to each other motivating me to work my hardest which was cool for her to experiances as well. I am able to hurdle again which my main event is the 300 hurdles and plan to make the best I can of my senior year to make up for not having junior year times and plan to compete in indoor meets leading into the school season! :) I want to place top three in the 300 hurdles or win state this year it will take a lot of hard work but I am more determined than ever. The main quote I would always hear from teammates and coaches was "a minor set back for a MAJOR comeback" and that's what I plan to achieve in my senior season
