I believe I have what it takes to pole vault in college because I am a hard working and determined athlete. Since freshman year, I have competed in four events almost every meet because my team can count on me to stay focused and give everything I have in every event, which is why I was awarded MVP freshman and junior year. I am a great team player and leader. My determination to get better at pole vaulting isn't only shown during the season, but during the off-season as well. I have worked very hard over the summer and fall to develop the skills and techniques needed to compete at a higher level. I have competed in several meets through USATF and AAU over the summers, including this year's AAU Junior Olympics held in North Carolina .
Academically I put in just as much work because my grades are very important to me. I strive to get the best grades I can, and I constantly challenge myself with honors and AP courses which keeps me busy between clubs, volunteering, sports, and school. My hard work, leadership, and dedication leaves a great impact on our track team, and I can't wait to transfer that over to the college level.
