The current goals that I established for myself include the following; to run 51-52 seconds in the 400, jump 42 ft. in the triple jump, run 22 seconds in the 200, run 2:10 in the 800, and also try out the 300m hurdles. When I get to college, my goals are to continue to strive for excellence and to record faster times and better marks. For my academics, my objective is not only to achieve, but to maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA throughout my collegiate years. I think I would be a good asset to any track team because I work very hard, I always do my best no matter if I like what I’m doing or not, and I’m very coachable. I think what makes me different from other recruits is my ability to work independently and my personality. I am driven by the attitude towards competitively being the best “me”, while at the same time respecting the goals and journey of others. I believe this is important because you have to be aggressive and passionate in the sport you participate in if you want to take it to the next level, yet understanding and compassionate when dealing with the struggles with myself and teammates. Another thing that makes me different is my athletic diversity and flexibility. I can run anywhere from the 100 to the 800, and I am a natural jumper; it’s just a matter of what I train for. And academics, I feel I’m different in that area because all my life, I’ve been taught that above average athletes need to achieve above average grades, and I plan to carry that mindset into college.
