I believe that in order to receive the best things in life, you need to set forth the right dedication and effort. I am fortunate to have found my place in running, because not only is it a fun and immensely rewarding sport, but it's a lifestyle that keeps on giving. Competing in this sport gives me a continual drive, dedication, and purpose on and off the track. I've gained a variety of skills of which I can apply to my schoolwork and everyday life. Running has taught me the discipline to stay on top of my education, as well as my goals, in order to make them manageable and attainable. I have discovered so much about my own personal life through running, and I have made numerous, unbreakable bonds between teammates that continue to grow stronger. I strive to set my best foot forward everyday in the classroom, on the track, and anywhere else I travel in life. I plan to work hard during the rest of my high school career and improve my race times so that I can be a competitor in college. I began competing on my school's track & field team my Sophomore year, and I began competing on my school's cross country team my Junior year. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made, and I know that I will be running for the rest of my life. I am hoping to attend a smaller sized, liberal arts college that will challenge me academically and provide the right support financially and in regards to what I hope to major in.
