Personal Statement

Running is my passion, and the gift that I have inspires me to reach goals I would never have thought to imagine my freshman year. Each school year I strive to get faster and better, and I plan on using my athletic and academic abilities to go to college with the opportunity to run track and cross country.

I started running in track 7th grade, and joined both track and cross country in 8th grade. I really started to dedicate myself to running the summer before my freshman year, when I met my teammates and learned how far I could go if I pushed myself to overcome the obstacles in my way.

Since freshman year, I have been running on the varsity track as well as varsity cross country,  and I have earned all conference with the help of my cross country coach and team my sophomore year. As of the end of my sophomore year, I was voted a captain for my girls cross country and am glad that I am able to make a positive impact on my team.

As well as running achievements, I am involved in  all honors and AP classes, and am apart of Student Council and Future Business Leaders of America(FBlA). I still have two years ahead of me and I plan to use the most of them as I achieve more goals I set for myself. I am looking for a college program that will fit my needs both athletically and academically, and I am sure that my talent as well as work effort in all aspects of a student athlete life will make a good attribution to any team.
