If you had asked me what I thought I would be doing when I grew up I never would of thought track. Younger me couldn't find point in 'running in circles' as I would say, but jumping opened another door for me. The first time I started jumping was my first year of track in 7th grade the event felt all too familiar to running down the vault runway in gymnastics. The atmosphere at meets and my team created made me grow my love for the sport. I not only wanted to get better for myself, but to live up to what my coaches, teammates and family believed I could do. Whether it be in the classroom or out on the track the ambition to work harder is thanks to them, and I have come to not only enjoy but I have become passionate about the work I put into myself and my sport.
As an athlete I know I have a long ways to go and that's what excites me. That's why competing on the college level is so important to me. I want to attribute to my team not only as an athlete but as a teammate. The opportunity to learn from others from different backgrounds and experiences is something I have come to value as a person and as an athlete. I know having this opportunity, after time, work and many corrections, will allow me to really take my performance to the next level.
Thank you for considering me as a future athlete,
