Getting 8th place at State for the long jump my freshman year has been the highlight of my high school career so far. However, my sophomore year I did not even place top 15 at the State for the long jump. That experience helped me grow as an athlete and made me realize that you are not going to win every time and that is okay. It has helped me re-focus my efforts to become a stronger long jumper that is capable of competing at the college level.
I am a great team player that does what it takes to help others accomplish their goals too. Last year during our track season, I was the anchor for our sprint med. One of my teammates had never gone to state before and this was the only race that she was going to be able to make it in. By the end of the race, I was so tired but I kept pushing because I not only wanted help my teammate but I also have the determination to finish a race strong. I feel that I would make a great addition to your team because I have great work ethic, I am a strong leader, and I am determined.
