Hi! My name is Grace Allen, and I am a senior at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas. I started in track and field in middle school, and fell in love with the competition and dedication that sprinting and jumping require. I would love to continue with this sport in college because I think I would flourish in the competitive atmosphere of college athletics. I also cherish the experiences I have had, such as participating in Kansas State High School Track and Field Championships as a freshman and sophomore, as well as the USTAF Region 9 Junior Olympic Championships also as a freshman and sophomore. In 2019, I received the USATF Junior Athlete of the Year Award for my region.
I enjoy competing in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash, long jump, and during high school season, the 4x100. Unfortunately, my Junior year track season was cut short due to Covid, but I have stayed determined to do well in 2021 and have been working hard at continuing my training. I’m looking forward to this next season.
I plan on taking a health sciences course of study in college, but I am not completely certain on an exact major.
