Hi! My name is Haley Dietsch, and I am an incoming Junior and runner at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas. I started running in middle school, and fell in love with the competition and dedication running requires. I would love to continue running in college because I think I would flourish in the competitive atmosphere of college athletics. I also cherish the experiences I have had with running, such as running in New Balance Outdoor Nationals where I split a 5:15 for a full mile, and would love to have more experiences like that in college. I was on a state winning 4x800m relay, and also placed third in the 800m this past spring at State. I struggled my freshman year with anemia, and worked on getting my iron up throughout my sophomore cross country season. I was able to get that under control going into my sophomore track season and perform well. Now that I am aware of the importance of iron, I do not foresee it ever being a problem again, and I am excited to finally have a strong cross country season. I plan on taking a mathematics-oriented course of study in college, but I am not completely certain on an exact major.
