Avril Maughan '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been high jumping ever since I was in 7th grade and I immediately fell in love with it. As soon as I finished my first season I realized that I wanted to high jump in college. Ever since then I have been working toward this goal training during my off seasons and working hard during my season, and it paid off because I placed 6th at state my freshman year. I did not get to compete during my sophomore season because the season got canceled because of COVID-19 and I am currently training for my junior season. I am a natural-born leader who is persistent and a hard worker who never backs down from a challenge,  if you say I can't jump 4in higher in 1 month I will go out there and train my hardest just show you I can. These traits are what make me the athlete and teammate I am today.
