Hi, my name is Mollie Sims. I am from Sterlington, Louisiana and attend Sterlington High School. I am currently going into my senior year and on track to graduate in 2022. I run cross country, track, and play soccer at my school. While participating in these sports, I have also maintained a 4.0 grade point average, taken part in the Nationals Honors Society, Multi Cultural Society, Fellowship of Christian Students, Art Society, and Student Council.
Throughout my time, I have always worked hard to succeed athletically and academically. I hope to continue to grow and succeed expectations I have set for myself and others have set for me. As a student athlete, I try my best to to spend my time wisely between academics as athletics. I am willing to work as hard as possible to become the best version of myself. I not only want to help my teammates, but would also love to help others. In fact, I would love to pursue a career in the medical field. I am extremely driven person and have a passion to help others in any way I can.
Along with pursuing a medical degree in college, I would also love to compete at the collegiate level in cross country! I have been running for 11 years now and do not think my running career is over. In high school, I have competed on the varsity team, have competed at state, been named most valuable runner, and have lettered all years I have competed. My current 5k personal record is 21:18 and my 3 mile record is 20:56. In just my two years of competing I have improved my times greatly and become a much stronger runner. I plan to continue to work and train hard to shave more time off. Along with cross country, I have also competed in indoor and outdoor track. In both of these, I have competed at the state level in multiple events and improved my times. I also play soccer, where I have lettered and made three All-District teams. As a three sport student athlete, I have learned that dedication, hard work, and patience are key. In order to succeed, you must be dedicated, have a passion, and be hard working to achieve your goals (this goes for athletics as well as academics). As my sports season run into each other, I have learned to manage and dedicate time to the season I am in, while also begin training for the season coming up. I have also learned to value patience, to trust the process, and know that the end award is always great.
Through this process I hope to find a college that suits me foremost academically, but also athletically. I hope to find a college that can help me become the greatest version of myself, while also enjoying the process. I would love to run cross country at the highest level possible in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Colorado, but am also open to other locations. I hope to continue my passion and dedication for academics and athletics in college!
