Stefany Sparks '22 Recruiting Profile

Before high school, I competed at state and multi-state regional Gymnastics meets as a member of Silver Stars, a well regarded Gymnastics team. In 2016 and 2017, I placed first at Maryland State Gymnastics Championship meets and received Outstanding Junior Olympic Athlete Awards. In 2016, 2017, and 2018, I placed first at Region 6 (14 states) Gymnastics Championship meets. I also competed at local and national Dive meets in summer leagues (6-time Montgomery County All-star) and with my high school varsity team (placing 5th at the National Catholic High School Championship and receiving the Varsity Coaches' Award in early 2020).

In the summer before my freshman year (2018-2019), I was recruited by Stone Ridge's Varsity T&F Head Coach. As a freshman,  I helped SR's varsity T&F team win its first Montgomery County Indoor Track Championship and received the T&F Varsity MVP Award. COVID-19 caused cancellation or shortening  of the T&F seasons during my sophomore and junior years, but I've been named Co-captain of SR's Varsity T&F team for the upcoming season (my senior year). 

I love sprints and long jumps, and I'm open to competing in T&F at the collegiate level assuming the college is the right fit academically. Thanks for reading about me! Stefany Sparks
