I grew up in a military family and, as a result we have moved around a lot. Sports offered an opportunity to make friends and deal with the adversity. I mainly played lacrosse and expected to play it throughout high school and college. However, it was until my freshman year in high school when I tried out for the track team and it has been one of the best choices I have made. Track allows me to push myself mentally and physically. Being from a military family helped my track career by making me disciplined, forcing me to adapt to frequent changes, and developing in me a strong work ethic. I worked hard throughout my high school career and qualified for the state meet each season. So far, I hold the gold metal in the 55m hurdles my junior year and also medaling in 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and high jump. I want to get into a college that will allow me to further my education by studying biology, chemistry and pursue my love of track.
