I've been interested in track and field from a young age but never got to start competing until my sophomore year in high school due to the pandemic that occurred in my freshman year. After deciding to try out for my high school Varsity Team, I made the team and fell in love with the sport even more. My mother also ran track back in her high school days which inspired me to keep getting better no matter the amount of talent I knew other girls my age had out there. If I do end up getting recruited for track in college, my biggest goal is to cut times in all my events to continue getting faster. To do that, I must continue to stay on top of my studies and focus on my training while I'm at the track. For any team that I'm able to be on, I would be a good candidate because I am very kind, outgoing at times and have great skills at adapting to new people and/or environments. I've lived in three different countries throughout my entire life (U.S., Africa, Canada) which makes it a lot easier to be able to adapt, unlike others. Academically, I'm always aiming for the best grades. I don't ever want to underestimate myself, so aiming high is all I do. I've received Honor Roll all three years of my high school career for maintaining straight A's on my transcripts from 10th to 11th grade. I have never failed any of my classes and almost all of them have been honors-level classes. As a student-athlete, I understand that school comes before many other things which is why I'm always motivated to get good grades.
