Personal Statement

Making it to the Regional State Championship as a freshman was a big accomplishment for me because I didn’t know what a shot put was and had never thrown one before until I participated in outdoor track for North Point High School without a throwing coach.

However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when I won 3rd in the conference tournament and 1st and 2nd and Regional Championship and made it to the State Championship and froze.  This showed me that I am human, and the experience helped me prepare for the next season, where I won indoor 1st place: SMAC and Regional and 2nd place in the State Championship.

I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.
