Hello! My name is Margaret, and I am a rising junior at Dover-Sherborn. I hope to continue my running career in college because of my love of running and competing for a team.
As a student, I am excited to take six academic AP and honors classes and to be returning as a mock trial captain. I am interested in law and government and their intersection with science -- an area I hope to pursue as a student-athlete in college and beyond. I am not afraid to put in the work and take more challenging classes or run harder events in school and sports.
As a runner, I never thought competing and being on a sports team would be such a meaningful part of my life. I did not run before high school, and due to covid, my first full year was last year.
For track and cross country, my favorite races are when I need to help our team win or make it to the next meet. On my team, I generally double or triple in distance events to rack up points and help secure a win for our team. By the end of my sophomore indoor season, I generally competed in the 1 mile, 1000m, and 4x4 relay triple. For indoor, I hold our records in the 1 mile, DMR, and 4x800. This last outdoor season, I usually doubled in the one-mile and the two-mile.
I also enjoy pursuing more personal goals. For example, after going to all states in cross country, I set the goal of making it to all states during indoor track. I ended up making it in the next season, outdoor track, despite getting COVID two weeks prior. This past summer, I set the goal of breaking our home course record and made it in our last home meet of the season.
I am looking for the opportunity to run in college to keep competitive running as a positive outlet in my life. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile!
