Personal Statement

My name is Delaney Dyer, and I am a Junior at Wellesley High School in Wellesley, MA. I am a well-rounded student - a three-season varsity athlete (soccer, indoor and outdoor track & field), a member of National Honors Society and highly active in community service.  My collegiate goal is to run for a competitive program at a university that has a strong academic focus, where I can ideally pursue a degree in business with a possible focus in sports management. My love of track began during my freshman year of high school. Prior to high school, I was primarily a soccer athlete.  I made the WHS Varsity soccer team as a freshman and have been a starting midfielder since sophomore year. As a freshman, I ran track for the first time during the indoor season and that’s when I began to identify as a track athlete. Running has allowed me to develop greater determination and grit — both mentally and physically — and a passion for a sport beyond soccer. I believe that my strong work ethic will allow me to seek individual improvement, but also help my college team as well.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
