The first time I competed in a sport for my school I was in 7th grade when I started Track and Field. Before that, I competed regionally in gymnastics at the Junior Olympic level. I finished my 7th season of gymnastics as a Level 8 and qualified for the Region 5 team that represented Michigan. Gymnastics taught me how to train for hours to reach my goals, how to handle pressure, time management, and how to adapt to different coaching styles.
My favorite accomplishment was my sophomore year when I got first place at the indoor pole vault state meet. During the outdoor season my relay team got a school record, and I placed second at the state meet. The experience I learned the most from was when I got injured right before my freshman state meet. My teammate and I were supposed to be 1st and 2nd. I had to sit out and cheer for my teammates, but I came back and I was super determined to compete at states the next year.
My long term goal is to compete Track and Field at the college level while earning my college education in the Health Science field, focusing on Nursing.
