My first running race was a Girls on the Run 5k in 3rd grade. I was so excited to train for the race, i went to all the practices and my dad ran with me on the weekends, i was really excited to do well. The race started and in typical fashion, all the girls ran as hard as they could for the first 400m. I remember going thru the mile marker feeling really well, there were only a few girls ahead of me and i thought i could win! It was just a GOTR run but it was the first time i had this feeling of wanting to run really fast and finish ahead of people. This is when running for me started.
As a Freshman in High school i earned my Varsity letter in 4 sports, cross country, track, figure skating and alpine skiing. I have been skiing and competing in figure skating since i was 4, i love to compete! I love all sports but as i move forward i will be focusing on cross country and track, there is just something about xc team dinners!! The team bond created from long runs and interval work is really special. I love that moment on interval days when you are half way in and you finish a set. You are tired and your hands are above you head, you look over at your teammates and you don't need to say a word, the effort does the talking! Running is very special.
I have been named Team Captain of 4 sports by 4 different coaches.
Thank you
