I recently completed my sophomore year of high school at Everest Collegiate in Clarkson, Michigan. In both my years of high school I have been apart of the first ever noncooperation track and cross country teams. I currently hold the record in my school for the 3200 meter run in track since my freshman year and placed twice in regionals that same year getting two medals or the 3200 meter and 1600 meter run. This year I received an all catholic award and another regional medal in my 3200 meter run. I have had a knee injuring during my cross country and track season of my sophomore year making it difficult to run, setting back my times. But through this I learned to be a better leader even if I'm not the best runner and it gave me some humility and the ability to respect other runners and athletes.
Although running is something I am constantly trying to improve upon, my grades are my top priority. My current GPA is 3.9 after my first two years at Everest. I take all the honors classes provided. I take my grades very seriously and do the best I can to maintain or increase my GPA. Everest is constantly preparing students for the work load and teaching methods seen in college, which is something I can say am grateful for.
In my free time I have two jobs and plan on volunteering more at the nursing home near my home town this summer. I love meeting new people and trying new things. I recently attended a leadership conference which taught me skills on how to be a leader in my team, at home, and anywhere. With my work ethic and new found leadership skills I hope to not only improve my times and grades, but to help my teammates and anyone around me be the best person they can be.
