I began running cross country for Marysville High School my sophomore year. During that season, I found my passion for running. I qualified individually for the MHSAA LP Division 2 Finals my inaugural season and look forward to returning this year. I thrive on pushing myself to continually do better both in cross country and academics. I balance a full course load including AP coursework along with athletics, marching band, National Honors Society, theater, youth group, and a part-time job. I do this while maintaining a 3.9+ GPA. I had the opportunity to attend the Jim Ryun Running Camp the summer of 2017 where I learned how to be a better runner holistically. I have been applying what I learned to adapt my running style to take on any course.
I have set many goals for myself including running cross country as a college athlete. I plan to pursue a degree in health science and look forward to being a lifelong runner. Short term goals include logging a new PR this season in addition to taking first place at the MAC Division Championship. Running as part of the Marysville High School team has encouraged me to strive for excellence and improve with every stride.
