Personal Statement

I enjoy competing in cross country very much, I enjoy running even more. I wish to compete in college so that I may further my development and commitment to bettering myself physically and mentally for the run.  After getting help through physical therapy and investing in myself as a serious athlete I got a taste of what reaching my goals felt like in my Junior XC season.  I'm not a quitter, before physical therapy I had 4 seasons of running in pain and then my Sophmore year not being able to run until the last three meets of the season, but I didn't let it define me. I used it to fuel my love for the run.  It was during that Sophomore season that I was team captain for the girls and assisted with the middle school team.  During that time I encouraged my teammates to do their best and to not give up and got to see younger kids find their love for the run. I've always enjoyed the community of XC and meeting other runners it's an unsaid bond, where you know that your ambitions to compete are more than just winning but personal triumph.  I feel  a similar way about representing my school, it's about being part of something bigger and more important than yourself,

My ultimate goal for college is to be successful, pursue the career I am passionate for, keep my good grades, and to aspire to become a greater person.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
