Pole vaulting in track and field is a sport that has really grown on me throughout middle school and high school. When I decided to join track in seventh grade, my dad suggested that I should try pole vault. I was pretty hesitant, but I am so thankful that he suggested this event, as I enjoy it so much now. Going to practice is so rewarding: I learn to get out of my comfort zone in our workouts, drills, and vaults, and I also get to spend time building relationships with my teammates. I am excited to work to improve my height in pole vault and times in races in college, while also working on a major in the exercise science field.
