Balancing academics and athletics is a priority in my life and I'll want a college that can meet both of my needs. I would like a college that has degrees in Dental Hygiene and/or Nursing. In addition, I'd like to go to a Division 1 school where I can reach my potential and compete with some of the Nation's best (hopefully at the Division I championships by my Freshman year). But most importantly, I would want to be a part of a team with coaches and teammates that always want to better themselves and each other. I'm never satisfied unless I see improvements in my workouts and performances. It is a lot of fun to break school records and win races, but I know that it all comes about because I've crushed multiple sprint workouts and survived some others. My coaches continue to ask more from me, and I continue to try to make big and small changes.
During the canceled track and field season last spring/summer, I was lucky to have my heptathlon coach, Ryan Koch, work with me. Even though the season was lonely without any of my teammates, I was still able to get a Personal Best of 4748pts (an improvement of almost 500 pts). Also, this winter, my school managed to keep their weight room open (despite other schools that closed theirs down) and my heptathlon coach had me working on a self-propelled treadmill. Nevertheless, I was able to get another PR in the Heptathlon at the NSAF Meet of Champions with 4898pts. I love the heptathlon because it allows me to see breakthroughs in so many areas. Sometimes other people are more polished in their events than I, because they are striving to be good at their few main events. However, I believe I will continue to see big growth every year because of my multi-event training.
Here is a list of some additional Personal Bests : 100 Hurdles 14.29, Long Jump 18-07.75, 400m - 56.25, 200m - 25.28, 800m - 2:16.42, SP 10.83m, JT 34.33m, and HJ 5-0.
