I have been an athlete for as long as I can remember trying different sports until I found one that I was passionate about. When I was ten I started a summer track program through my elementary school and competed in my first AAU and USATF qualifiers and I have been hooked ever since. I not only aspire to compete in track and field in high school but also at a collegiate level as well. I really want to compete in college track and field so I can continue to push myself and grow as an athlete and a person.
I am a very versatile athlete and have competed in many different events like the pentathlon. I especially like the technical events like Pole Vault, Javelin and the 300 Hurdles. I am a leader by nature and like to lead by the examples I set on and off the track. I am also a team player and am always cheering my teammates on.
I am very dedicated to my sport. I not only compete in high school track, but I have also competed in club track since the fourth grade and have worked with many coaches. I am a very coachable athlete who is willing to take advice from anyone who can make me a better. I will be one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find on and off the track.
I like to challenge myself scholastically by taking all AP, Honors and Weighted Grade classes while maintaining a high GPA. I also like to volunteer every year at the Special Olympics Days held at my school. I have done this since the fifth grade and love to watch them compete.
Lastly, I would like to attend a college where I can continue to grow and push myself scholastically as well as on the track. I want to find the right college match so I am open to all options if they help me achieve my goals of competing at the highest level of competition as possible. I hope to continue to be a leader and a role model for my peers and make my family and coaches proud.
