Going to college has always been a huge goal for me. The athletic part of college didn't really appeal to me until about last year. That was the year pole vault was introduced to our school. I was told by many people that I would be very good at it and I'm extremely glad I decided to try it. With pole vault being brand new to me and my fellow athletes and coaches, we had a lot to learn. So I took the initiative into my own hands and really buckled down to figure out ways to be successful. With much hard work and dedication, I achieved Conference Champion, District Champion, and received 6th place at Nebraska State Track and Field during my first year. I bring a lot of competitiveness, energy, and passion to a team. I have never had something handed to me and then resulted in not giving my absolute best. I really enjoy being challenged. I am very determined and it takes a lot for me to get discouraged; not only with athletics but with academics as well. I've always had straight A's across the board. School is critical to me and I love the feeling of seeing the results after putting in so much effort. I am super excited for these new experiences to come and optimistic about the challenges that are to come with them.
