Every year since my first year on the cross country team in 7th grade, running has become a more and more central part of my life. What started as a fun thing to do with friends has turned into one of my greatest passions. My progress has not been a straight cut path to success, but rather it has been full of drastic failures and successes. I overcame a battle with an eating disorder at age 14 that took running away from me for a while and threatened to tarnish my whole career. My strong comeback from that shows my resilience and unrelenting drive.
I have many reasons for my desire to continue competing at the collegiate level. I want to see what I can accomplish with the higher level of training in college. I also want to run with and meet people who share the same passion for running as I do. Additionally, I would like to experience being part of a larger team, as there are only three girls on my high school cross country team. Finally, I wish to be part of my college's running community and student athlete life.
