My name is Paige Hurst. I found my love for running while playing lacrosse in middle school. I was asked by a teammate to try cross country running since I had speed and endurance. Cross country in middle school was the start to my running career which then expanded to track. I enjoy running and being healthy. Fitness is very important to me and my goal is to pursue a career in sports management.
Currently I play three sports- cross country in the fall, indoor track in the winter, and lacrosse in the spring. Track is where I strive to excel. I am currently entering my junior year at Pelham High School and have competed in the state finals the past two years. I improved during my sophomore year. However, I have a long way to go. I want to improve my times and would love to win the state title. This year in indoor track I finished 5th at the 600 m and my relay team 4 x 200 finished 3rd in the New Hampshire Division 2 State Tournament. My goal is to build on this and be stronger and faster every year.
I have dyslexia and through my academic struggles I know that it takes hard work to succeed. My success on the athletic field and in the gym helps me feel balanced. I love the game of lacrosse so while I feel I could have success doing outdoor track I chose lacrosse because I enjoy the game and the interactive team sport. I believe enjoying what you do is an important part of life. I know I want track to be my focus in college and strive to become faster and stronger. I believe my will and determination will make me successful in my academic life and on the athletic field.
