One of my so told best traits is how I can always keep an open mind. This pertains to being open to new experiences, new ideas, and being able to see from another persons perspective. I believe this, along with my positive attitude makes me a highly coachable athlete. I have had a few injuries that have caused some setbacks in my athletic career. Saying this, all they did was make me want to work harder. No injury or other type set back led me to give up or care less for the sport. I'm proud that I can now say the same with my academics.
A character trait I have focused on this past school year is holding myself more accountable for my grades. In my first two years of highschool I struggled academically. During this time I could not see past my learning disability. I set myself at a mediocre standard with no confidence or future goals. I resigned myself to believing that it was the best that I could do. This past year my goal was to break the thought process I've had for so long. I am now a straight A student with clear sense of the correlation between my internal belief system and my ability to achieve goals.
My current goals and aspirations are to travel and experience as many places and cultures as possible in my lifetime, I want to learn every possible way there is to learn around the world. This brings me to a career goal of finding a skill or an occupation that allows me to be mobile and possibly work in multiple industries.
With my drive and dedication to always improve academically and athletically I believe I will be a valuable member to any team or community I have a chance to be a part of .
