I am a former competitive gymnast and successfully participated in the sport for seven years. Gymnastics was the environment in which I first learned to push myself and gain the confidence to do my best. I looked forward to the 20 hour per week practices and challenging workouts. Unfortunately, due to an injury, I was forced to quit the sport that I loved. Shortly thereafter, I participated in various sports including basketball, lacrosse, soccer, pole vaulting, and ballet. During my high school freshman year, I joined the Freshman soccer team and participated in both Indoor Track and Outdoor Track at the Varsity level for the 300 m sprint and high jump events. As a sophomore, I joined the Cross Country team to gain extra endurance for Indoor/Outdoor Track sprints and participated at the Varsity level. My personal best for the 5000 m is 21.25. I continued Indoor and Outdoor Track at the Varsity level for the remainder of the year. As a junior, I participated in Cross Country, and Indoor and Outdoor Track in the 4x400, 400m, 300m, and 200m sprints, as well as long jump, triple jump, and high jump events. My personal bests in each event include 400m (1:07), 300m (48.27s), 200m (30.8s), Long Jump (16.7 ft), Triple Jump (34.4 ft), and High Jump (5 ft). Overall, I find that perseverance, hard work, and determination allow me to work harder and reach my goals faster. Academically, I have successfully moved from all advanced level classes to honors and AP level classes and achieved high honor roll and honor roll. I am currently working towards my Girl Scout gold award project as well. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, drawing, painting, animation, skateboarding, and going to the gym.
