My goals and aspirations are to work hard for my future and not just to become a track star or the fastest girl in the world but become more so the motivation for anybody that either has a health condition or was doubted on because of how people predict you as or what they think they know about you. I want my involvement in sports to become a message that we can make anything impossible turn into possible without believing in people's opinions but God's work that he has blessed us with. Especially me who is 4’10 and has asthma a lot of people called me slow or said that I wouldn't get drafted or make it as far because of my health condition. I let it get to me for a long time while I was involved in other sports like karate and dance. But I had to think to myself if I did karate for about 7 years and reached black belt level and danced in many competitions then what's the difference with a track. I might use my asthma pump here or there but it’s become less of use unless I needed it but because I learned how to train myself on how not to use my pump and just hold my hands up & breathe. When I practice I make sure people's bad critiques and their doubts motivate me more to keep pushing and train even harder. During my first preparation for cross country this year my first week I started with 28:57.1 and even my coach was in shock because of one the fast leaders came right after me and then finally with my last one week my pr was 26:23.3. Which made me so proud of myself and inspired me that even with asthma. Prayer and Working hard is the best result to ever have and not only that put My coaches, my family, and friends who believe in me as well. I feel like I’m definitely a good candidate for any track team because I am great at building friendships and being there for people at their lowest, I’m all about positivity, fun, and working together as a team. Even my coaches and teammates can vouch for that because I like keeping a smile on people’s faces. I also hold leadership and countability when it comes down to making Myself and my teammates a better runner. For example, if a practice was canceled today, I will call or text my teammates to see who is available to train or have our own practice because in order to make it you have to put in as much effort and work as you can to expose yourself to greatness. Now, what makes me different from who I am whether is athletically or academically is that I don’t try to become perfect or hid my imperfections from anyone because that’s not who I’m truly am if I want to become better in it or need help I will definitely make sure I get the help I need to become the inspirer and greatest I can be. Nobody is perfect and I don't believe in perfection. I believe in the progress and become way better than what you perform yesterday. That's what I believe in: sacrificing your capability for a challenge to test your beliefs that’s the only way out is to want challenges for yourself. Sometimes being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.
