My passion for running track began in 2012, when I was 9 years old. At the time, I was also pitching in softball, and had completed 5 years of dance. I competed in my first AAU Junior Olympics, running the 800m, in 2012. I performed well in multiple events, finished in 8th place, and received a medal in the 3000m run at the AAU Club Championship in 2015. I am most proud of my 800m PR of 2:22:21 during my sophomore season.
This coming year I plan to significantly improve my times this year and PR in the 800, 400m hurdles, 1500 and 1600.
Other than the practices I participate in, I regularly invest extra time in strength training, cross training, and independent running in order to prepare for indoor and outdoor track seasons. My hard work and dedication inspires my teammates, and I am at my best when I am both challenging others and challenged by my team.
I have the same energy and drive in my school work as I do my running. As discussion about going to college is increasing in my junior year, I am interested in learning more about the different opportunities that colleges and universities have to offer. I am confident that I will be just as excited to be in a college classroom as I will be to work on a college track.
