The moment I started track and field in fifth grade, I fell in love with the sport. It wasn't until eighth grade during the State USATF Junior Olympics, that I knew I wanted to pursue track in college. In the finals of my hurdle race, I fell on the last hurdle and just made it to Regionals. I trained every day that summer. That experience changed me for the better. It made me a determined, strong minded, positive, and a persevering athlete. Due to the attitude I had coming into Regional USATF Junior Olympics, I was the Regional Champion for the 200 meter hurdles and I came in second for the 100 meter hurdles. I continue to persevere and stay determined to work towards my goals, one of them being to run in college.
Not only am I searching for a college that fits me athletically, but I am also looking for a college that fits me academically. Academics are a huge part of attending college and I want to receive a good education, while getting pushed to be better athletically.
