My name is Samantha Cole and I have been competing in track and field since 7th grade. Even though my first year competing in track was 7th grade, my love for the sport started when I was much younger. Between races across the front yard with my little sister to the Delsea Track club I would practice at when I was 7, I knew I loved to run. During middle school, I would compete in Cross Country and Track. After my 8th grade year, I knew it was the sport for me, what I didn't know was how much the sport would have an impact on me.
I believe I would be a great contribution to any team because I compete in multiple events and have experience in many others. My main events are 400m Hurdles, 100m Hurdles, and Triple Jump. I also have many years of competition experience in the High Jump as well as competition experience in the 200m, 400m, and 800m. I am a great addition to any team because I am able to compete in many events and adapt well to many situations.
It is important to me that I also get a good education while competing. I am currently ranked in the top 10% of my class and have been taking all honors classes since 5th grade, and AP classes since junior year. This past year I took AP US History, AP English 3, Honors Physics, Honors Pre-Calculus and Honors Spanish 3 and ended with an A in each class. My goal in college is to be able to continue my love for this sport while also paving the path to my life in the future.
