Personal Statement

My full name is Katelyn Nolan, but I go by Katie. I'm 17 years old and a track athlete at Delaware Valley Regional High School in New Jersey. (I just began my senior year.) I'm very dedicated to becoming the best student athlete I can be by achieving top grades in honors and AP level classes along with improving on the track. Finishing my junior season, I ran a 2:22.22 in the 800 and 59.81 in the 400 along with helping my 4x400 team as the anchor leg to a new PR. I also tried out some sprint events when my coach allowed, and I was able to clock a 12.78 in the 100m and a 26.91 in the 200m. With these progressing times I am very eager to bring dedication and versatility to collegiate athletics.

Something that stands out about me is not only my passion for the sport but also my devotion. I found running midst the pandemic as my typical pastimes were no longer in action and instantly fell in love. Since 2020, I have run at least 4 times a week, working to get faster with each run. I am looking forward to having a collegiate level coach and an encouraging team who is willing to support me in achieving the high goals I have set for myself.

I am also very well rounded, being involved in athletics and academics while holding a part time job at my local rock climbing gym and volunteering in my community. I look forward to running competitively at the college level and developing not only as a runner but as a young individual.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
