I have been involved in various sports since I was 5 years old, including basketball, lacrosse, and soccer. Growing up, I had a passion for soccer and would spend any available time practicing with my dad in my backyard or at a field. As I grew older, I realized that a large part of why I loved soccer was because of running. I loved sprinting to the ball in a game and running in drills during practice. When it came time to sign up for sports for high school, I decided to sign up for winter track instead of basketball.
The second I stepped on the track, I fell in love with everything about the sport. I look forward to every practice and meet, and count down the number of days between seasons. I love training with my teammates and helping them with whatever they need. I push myself and others to the limit every practice to see the best results. I have seen a substantial improvement in my form and time from freshman to junior year, and I am still looking forward to improving my time and technique.
As a student-athlete, I am very dedicated to both sports and academics. I maintain a 4.21 GPA and I am involved in several clubs, holding an officer position in one. I am also a captain for the winter and spring track. I was selected as a freshman advisory peer leader as well as a member of the Principal's Advisory Committee. My goal is to compete at a collegiate level and attend a highly ranked academic school to pursue a career in the medical field.
