Hi, my name is Erin Kerwick, and I am a 2026 track athlete. Growing up, sports have always been a part of my life and something that has always made me happy. I first joined my middle school track team in seventh grade because people had always told me that I was fast. In my races that season, I never came in first. It really bothered me at the time that I could never get first place, but this is what pushed me to work my hardest. Eventually, I did start coming in first place, and I even received the coaches award at the end of my eighth-grade season. I made the varsity team my freshman year, and I continued to work hard. My sophomore season did not go as I had hoped. While I performed well, I couldn’t achieve the times I wanted. That summer, I decided that I was going to push myself to my full potential to become better in my next seasons. I dedicated more hours in the gym, changed my diet, and spent more time on the track doing workouts my coach had given to me. During the first few weeks of practice, and even over the summer, I started to see progress in my performance, and I even set a personal record at the first meet of the season. Now, I am continuing to push myself to improve this season. I plan to run in college at the best school for me. I will do whatever it takes to become the best athlete I can be.
