Hello my name is Afua, I'm currently an upcoming junior at West Windsor Plainsboro High School North. My goal is to become an Occupation Therapist that specializes in childhood development, meaning that I will be studying Kinesiology and Psychology for my undergrad years and will follow up with an OT program to receive my license. My goal during my period in college is to participate in Women's Track and Field, specifically participating in the throwing events (shot put, discus, javelin, etc). Currently, I throw only during the spring but I will be changing to full time this upcoming winter, I believe that every season I show exceptional growth and that changing full time will definitely benefit my form, current record, and future coaching. I believe I'm a good candidate for competing in the collegiate level because I'm a quick learner and very coachable. My freshman year I started throwing past 30 ft with bad form and, in my sophomore year (with a different coach) I was able to improve form and move comfortably within the circle. Something that makes me special from others is how I don't count reps I count good throws, during practices I don't like to stop when a throw doesn't feel good instead I continue until I'm completely burnt out. I put tons of pressure on myself and I give myself very high expectations because I believe that they're all reachable.
